Switching

Move from Trello to Alignr

Export your tasks as a CSV, upload it, check how the columns line up, and see exactly what will be created before anything is written. You can try it on a copy first and keep using Trello until you are sure.

1. Export from Trello

  1. Trello's own export is JSON, which can't be imported directly.
  2. Use a board-to-CSV export (a Power-Up or a small converter), so each card is a row with its list name.
  3. Save the CSV.

2. Import into Alignr

In Projects, choose Import from another tool, pick Trello, and upload the file. The list name becomes the status, so each Trello list turns into a column. Members and Labels carry across.

You can correct any column the guess got wrong. Importing the same file twice never duplicates tasks.

Comes across
  • Tasks, titles and descriptions
  • Statuses as board columns
  • People matched by name or email
  • Labels, priorities and dates
  • Subtasks
Doesn't, yet
  • Comments and attachments
  • Time tracking
  • Custom fields
  • Dependencies between tasks

3. Pilot before you switch

Let one small team use the copy for a week while Trello stays the source of truth. Compare counts, fix what is missing, then move everyone. Our week-by-week plan walks through it.
