Switching

Move from Asana to Alignr

Export your tasks as a CSV, upload it, check how the columns line up, and see exactly what will be created before anything is written. You can try it on a copy first and keep using Asana until you are sure.

1. Export from Asana

  1. Open the project and its menu (the arrow beside the name).
  2. Choose Export / Print, then CSV.
  3. Save the file.

2. Import into Alignr

In Projects, choose Import from another tool, pick Asana, and upload the file. Section/Column becomes the status, Projects becomes the board, Notes the description, and Completed At marks a task as done.

You can correct any column the guess got wrong. Importing the same file twice never duplicates tasks.

Comes across
  • Tasks, titles and descriptions
  • Statuses as board columns
  • People matched by name or email
  • Labels, priorities and dates
  • Subtasks
Doesn't, yet
  • Comments and attachments
  • Time tracking
  • Custom fields
  • Dependencies between tasks

3. Pilot before you switch

Let one small team use the copy for a week while Asana stays the source of truth. Compare counts, fix what is missing, then move everyone. Our week-by-week plan walks through it.
